Flow Yoga is about linking
the breath with the pose as we flow from pose to pose in a smooth,
easy manner. Like Meditation in Motion. And on a deeper level, as
we start to release our resistances and shed our layers of tension,
a part of us begins to open up and flow with the present moment. Going
with the flow of the moment, we become the Flow itself and a great
sense of peace can be found.
I call my style of Yoga,
Flow Yoga to help us to remember to stay in the Flow of Life, as it
constantly changes. Yoga is ultimately about being comfortable in
every single moment of our lives. And this can be difficult at times
as we all know, but Yoga practice is a great practice. Asana literally
means to sit comfortably, so we practice sitting comfortably in a
Yoga pose so that we can continue to practice sitting comfortably
with every situation that arises in life.
Some of the biggest obstacles
in Yoga, as well as life, are our inability to accept things as they
are, and our resistance to change. In Yoga, we practice fully embracing
the now, letting go of Past and Future, helping us to be a lot happier.
In Yoga class, we can observe all the myriad of changes that go through
our bodies and minds by staying connected with the breath. We listen
to our bodies, honoring their limits, and never pushing too hard,
for Yoga is not competition. As a pose becomes intense, we can remain
in the moment staying with the intensity by following the breath.
The breath is a marvelous link, always staying in the present moment.
By focusing our awareness on the breath, at any moment we are brought
back to the instant of inhaling or exhaling. As life becomes intense,
we can continue to follow the breath, so we don't get stuck carrying
around unwanted tensions. These tensions are blocked energy. Yoga
teaches us sensitivity to our own stuck areas, in our bodies, and
in our lives. The breath will help us release and get unstuck, so
we can once again go with the Flow of Life. No resistances. Just peace
and contentedness. Once we become more available to the present moment,
life becomes so rich and full and such a blessing!

THE VIDEOS
After countless requests
from students, Stephanie has put together these videos to offer you
a one hour yoga class that can be done in the convenience of your
own home.
Other benefits of Flow
Yoga can include an increase in flexibility and strength, an overall
ease of bodily movements, better posture, improved breathing, better
sleep. You will find it easier to relax, reducing stress and tension,
and easier to focus, increasing concentration and mental clarity.
As your level of energy increases and you become more centered and
grounded, Yoga will start to become more than just an hour of stretching,
but a way of life, learning to let go and be in the moment of every
day life. Enjoy.
P.S. Remember, a yoga video can never take the place of a qualified
yoga instructor.
