In
1988 Stephanie Keach broke her back in a car accident and healed herself
through Yoga. From this re-birthing, she has been studying and teaching
Yoga ever since. Within 3 months of the accident, without any traditional
medicine, she was doing backbends and if you've ever seen Stephanie
do a backbend, you will be amazed.
Living in Santa Barbara,
CA, Stephanie had access to many of the West Coast's finest Yoga teachers.
She considers herself a Life-inspired student of Yoga
and gives thanks to her most influential teachers Erich Schiffmann,
Rod Stryker, Bryan Kest, and Rodney Yee. She also spent many summers
at Tassajara Zen Center, studying Zen Buddhism.
After the accident, Stephanie
began teaching right away. She sees it as her calling. To this day,
she teaches weekly at the Asheville
Yoga Center, conducts Teacher Training Certification Programs,
and gives weekend retreats around the United States. She teaches in
a style all her own, although it parallels mostly with Erich Schiffmann
and others out West conducting Flow style classes. She encourages
meditation and deep inner reflection as she skillfully guides you
through gentle to dynamic flowing asanas.
Currently, she lives with
her loving husband and latest Gurus, her beloved boys Samson, Duncan
and Tobe in Asheville, North Carolina. When not doing Yoga, she enjoys
conscious parenting, being outdoors and playing music, mostly devotional
Kirtan. She owns the Asheville
Yoga Center offering classes,
workshops
and Teacher
Certification.
