- A Unique Training Incorporating Ayurveda
We share our campus with The Ayurvedic Institute – the oldest Ayurvedic school in the U.S. which has been training healers since 1984 and is directed by world-renowned Ayurvedic physician and author, Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc. In this training you will be exposed to Ayurvedic philosophy, nutrition doshas, cooking demonstrations, and basic principles of Ayurveda to give you a holistic approach to healing.
- Experienced Faculty Who Live Their Practice
Learn from professional yoga teachers who live their practice day-in and day-out. Yoga philosophy, the concept of dharma, and the spiritual path are a big part of what we teach and live at Asheville Yoga Center. In this training, you will dive into the 8 Limbs of Yoga and other philosophical concepts around your yoga practice by those who have embraced these concepts in their lives. We focus on teaching yoga not just on the mat, but off that mat as well to incorporate yoga in your everyday life.
- So Much More Than Just A Yoga Studio
Through our parent company, AyurPrana, we have access to an incredible amount of resources that our students can benefit from. As mentioned we share a campus with The Ayurvedic Institute – with communal lounge spaces and a library. You will also have access to all the public classes at our yoga studio and can attend music and live shows at The AyurPrana Listening Room!
- Training in Asheville - An Iconic Region With Adventure Around Every Corner
With a vibrant art, food, and music scene, Asheville is a special gem nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains! Asheville offers the perfect backdrop to our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs, allowing our students to explore a myriad of wellness and lifestyle experiences all over this vibrant city and the surrounding when not on their mat.
We’re Yogis First and Teachers Second

Every teacher had their own unique gifts and were so consistently professional, caring, goal oriented, and personable. I will definitely miss this experience as I have made so many new friends and learned so much about my passion for yoga and myself and human nature in general.

What You Get
Our course is resource rich and filled with useful learning aids and support materials that will enable you to get the most out of your training and set you up to begin your teaching journey!

The course is life changing. Yoga is more than the poses. The instructors are so knowledgeable of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the Gita, yoga history, Chakras, Kundalini, Anatomy, Asanas, Pranayama , Meditation and more. My personal yoga practice has changed so much for the better. My last Vinyasa flow Yoga class I just taught included pranayama and meditation and I had a yoga teacher tell me it was one of the best classes she had been to in months. AYC has made me a better yoga instructor and person.

Sequence charts
Inspired by Ayurveda, you will be introduced to 3 unique AYC sequences (based on the elements of earth, water, and fire) that meet different body needs and types. You will experience these sequences through different teachers with different yoga lineages and perspectives. This form of instruction is rare in the yoga teacher training space – but enables you to graduate the program with a variety of sequences to enrich your personal practice and to guide your early teaching.
Digital library
Our digital library features 12+ hour long videos from our teaching staff including faculty from The Ayurvedic Institute & Dr. Vasat Lad. These videos will present in depth information on different topics related to the training. You will have access to this digital library for up to 6 months after your training ends so that you can refer back to the content even after the course is finished.
